EDUCATOR EMPOWERMENT : Unleashing Excellence through Teacher Training

"State-level Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Conference" (FLN) to commemorate India's assuming presidency of G20
Educators attended an invigorating and enriching session on 7th June, 2023 on FLN through an awareness programme with various activities and performances by the students in regard to the G20 presidency and FLN. The objective of the workshop was to raise the awareness for the principals to guide and implement and various projects and activities like painting, story-telling, quizzes, etc. on keeping Earth safe in their schools. The workshop concluded with teachers looking enthusiastic for another workshop as they would implement the same in the schools. Different and various FLN stations were made by various schools to show teaching aids and methods of teaching Numeracy, Science and Literacy skills. Along with conference the mentioned events were also running simultaneously - Puppet show, painting competitions, puzzles, quiz were also organized for students of different age groups.


WORKSHOP AT JIIT NOIDA EMPOWERING TEACHERS WITH IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE

A workshop was organized from 22nd May to 26th May, 2023 at JIIT Noida, where all PGTs of Jaypee School from the Science and computer science Dept. participated in a training program facilitated by the esteemed professors. The biology workshop focused on neurobiology, human kinetics, genetics, endocrinology, and immunology, offering valuable insights and practical applications in these fields.
The workshop commenced with engaging lectures delivered by expert professors, who shared their extensive expertise and research findings in their respective fields , it also provided practical applications. The teachers were given the opportunity to explore different laboratories, machines and equipment.
In conclusion, the workshop organized at JII'T Noida proved to be a transformative experience for the participating teachers. The combination of informative lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions provided a holistic understanding of the topics. Interacting with the knowledgeable professors and fellow participants further enhanced the learning atmosphere.


Technology will not replace teachers but technology in the hands of great teachers can be transformational.

A workshop designed to enable teachers to make competent use of Blended learning was organized on 28th September by the school Principal Ms Meeta Bhandula which proved to be very insightful. The aim of this initiative was to equip a cohort of teaching staff with the skills, up-to-date tools and resources to apply innovative teaching methods or adaptive pedagogies, to strengthen teachers' ability to respond to the current crisis, and to strengthen the resilience of Indian education system to future shocks. She emphasized on the ways to improve the retention capacity and academic performance of the students.

  

                 
Teacher’s Training Programmes

Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction!
The mentors participated in the various capacity building and empowerment programs initiated by CBSE to update their professional competencies. The teacher training programs aimed to share multi-sensory pedagogic processes involved in experiential learning, sensitize educators to implement it in their classrooms and make learning more joyful, reflective and multidisciplinary. The teachers attended more than 100 training programs to enhance their understanding of curriculum and delivery mechanism and other professional qualities. They actively participated in the Shishka Parv 2021 and attended the webinars to reinforce sustainability in the classrooms in order to prepare the young minds for a life time of sustainable living.

 

Learning is experience and everything else is just information. In order to develop proficiency in framing competency-based questions, a Faculty Development Workshop was conducted on 24th September, 2021 in the Multipurpose Hall of the school. The resource person, Dr. Mosam Sinha, through his exemplary oration, enlightened bits and fun-filled activities, provided great exposure to the educators on what rubrics and pre-requisite conditions should be kept in mind before framing such questions to augment the learners’ conceptual grasp and promote a conducive learning environment. It also covered broad range of topics from various disciplines to ensure enhanced clarity and efficiency while framing questions in the assessment. The session proved to be extremely invigorative and informative for the faculty members who actively participated in different activities and provided overwhelmingly positive feedback.


EMPOWERING THE SISTER SCHOOLS!

Teaching is a humble profession that needs passion and love for the job. We got the opportunity to conduct the Faculty Training Programme for SPV Dankaur in which our school teachers interacted with their counter-parts. Our teachers shared the best practices for improving the subject delivery. They also discussed various domains of learning that is cognitive, affective, interactive and psychomotor skills with an aim to enhance their teaching skills.


CROSS-TRAINING PROGRAM FOR THE FACULTY OF SARDAR PATEL VIDYALAYA, DANKAUR

A Cross-Training/ Faculty Empowerment program for Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Dankaur, was conducted by Jaypee Public School, Greater Noida, from 21st Dec, 2020 till 4th Feb, 2021. Under this program, interactive sessions were conducted for each subject teacher by the faculty of Jaypee Public School, Greater Noida, who guided them about the best practice, effective teaching pedagogies and co-curricular activities to help them provide an enriching experience to their students.

Our Principal Ms. Meeta Bhandula conducted the following webinars for the faculty of SPV, Dankaur -

  • Webinar on Competency based Education (January 2, 2021) in which she apprised the teachers about the latest teaching pedagogies introduced by CBSE like Competency Based Education and Art- Integrated Learning.

  • Webinar on Integration of ICT in Teaching, Learning and Assessment (January 9, 2021) in which she apprised the staff about the Edu-Tech tools which teachers should use to make online classes more effective and interesting. She gave the demo of latest digital tools like Diksha Portal, E-pathshala, Padlet, Kahoot and Augmented reality etc

  • Shri M. P. Sharma, Manager of the school and Shri Ranjeet Kumar, Principal SPV Dankaur were also present in the Webinar.

 

TEACHERS’ TRAINING PROGRAMME ON LESSON PLANNING AND ART INTEGRATED LEARNING

The teachers from (VI-XII) attended a training session headed by the school manager Shri M.P Sharma on 23rd February, 2021. The aim of this workshop was to apprise the teachers about the new system of teaching and assessment as the CBSE has implemented and suggested the new lesson plan format, which is based on THE ENGAGE modal, competency-based education. He gave an insight of the new lesson plan in detail and explained each parameter. The emphasis was on Acquisition of skills through meta learning.

The second session of the workshop was taken by our revered resource person Ms. Shubhika Lal, who has been an art educator and practicing artist. She enhanced our knowledge further on art integrated learning. She spoke about art integration and enlightened the staff how art integration can be blended with different subjects and how beautifully it adds colours, to learning thereby bringing out the best within a learner.

     


WORKSHOP ON NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020 (NEP 2020)

Senior Vice President Education M.P.Sharma ji, took a virtual meeting for the staff members on the 29th August 2020 through the medium of Zoom. The main objective was to apprise the faculty members about the radical changes implemented by the MHRD The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), which was approved by the Union Cabinet of India on 29 July 2020, outlines the vision of India's new education system. The new policy replaces the previous National Policy on Education, 1986 Sir said that National Education Policy 2020 will bring transformational reforms in school and higher education systems in the country. Speaking through a virtual meeting, sir briefed the teachers and said this is the first education policy of the 21st century and replaces the thirty-four-year-old National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986. Built on the foundational pillars of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability and Accountability, this policy is aligned to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and aims to transform India into a vibrant knowledge society and global knowledge superpower by making both school and college education more holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary, suited to 21st century’s needs and aimed at bringing out the unique capabilities of each student.
