RISE FOR SPARROW - A CAMPAIGN TO SAVE BIO SPHERE
Workshop by Eco Root Foundation was conducted on 28th December, 2019 in our school premises to enhance sensitivity towards the conservation of environment. The renowned environmentalist Mr.Rakesh Khatri trained students of the school to make sparrows home because these beautiful little creatures are on the verge of extinction. Students participated enthusiastically and learned about many amazing fact of sparrow. Mr. Rakesh Khatri made the students aware that these house birds are becoming extinct because of urbanization and deforesting. Students took pledge that they will also play their role to protect sparrows and will provide them homes. They also promised Mr. Rakesh that they will spread awareness about this pious activity
POCSO WORKSHOP ON GIRLS SAFETY
An Intelligent person knows how to get out of a situation. A Wise person knows how NOT to get IN a situation. Keeping this essence in mind under the guidance of school Principal Ms. Meeta Bhandula workshop on the rules for girl’s safety rules was conducted on 23rd December 2019 for class-6th to 8th. The workshop was conducted by school counselor /wellness teacher. In this session many tips on safety of girls were shared. Students were taught to avoid the situation instead of fighting with the problem situation. An awareness among students was created to identify the suspicious situation and persons with wrong intentions. Following 10 A s of personal safety for girls were discussed – 1- Avoid a situation 2- Access prevention 3- Attitude 4- Awareness of surrounding 5- Anticipation 6- Assertive verbal and body language 7- Agile 8- Attention 9- Appeared non compliance 10- Armed be prepared. Students also shared their own experiences and trick which they followed to come out of the situation. It was very informative and fruitful interactive session.
EDUCARNIVAL AT IIT DELHI
A three-day conference, Educarnival,organised at IIT Delhi from 12th-14th December 2019 was attended by Principal Ms. Meeta Bhandula, Mr. Shahnawaz Ansari, Ms. Priti Rai, Ms. Ritu Dutta and Ms. Shalini Gupta. The theme of the conference was “The Joy of Being an Educator”. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Harish Chaudhry (Prof. IIT Delhi & Conference Chairman). According to him, teaching is a process of self-actualisation, the process of becoming one with the environment and a teacher experiences this bliss everyday during the teaching-learning process. The various eminent speakers expressed their views/ thoughts/ opinions on issues such as Importance of Self-Reflection to a Teacher, Happy Teachers create Happy Classrooms, Equipping Teachers as Career Counsellors, Examination Reforms, Instructional Strategies etc. Issues such as The Genesis of Teacher Demotivation and Prevention of Teacher Burnout were also addressed. Education Minister of Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia, also graced the occasion by his presence. He briefed about the education reforms undertaken in the government schools of Delhi and expressed his belief that education can be used as a powerful tool to abolish social malpractices.
WORKSHOP ON IMPROVING ACCESS TO AND USE OF INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)
CBSE in association with Microsoft Corporation Pvt. Ltd. conducted a capacity building program in Vikas Bharati Public School New Delhi from 23rd to 25th September 2019. The resource person for the training was Ms. Niti Dwivedi.
The aim of the training was to introduce latest technologies for improving access to and use of information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools that will help teachers to integrate technology into teaching, use digital technology safely, enhance the learning experiences and improve 21st century skills of all students.
They provided real project-based learning environment to ensure that learners can gain an in-depth practical knowledge and are equipped with the abilities to unlock the maximum potential of the Microsoft Office 365, which is a collection of services that allows the learner to collaborate and share their school and administrative work. It also included aspects of Artificial Intelligence, Gamification through Minecraft, collaborative tool such as Teams, Flipgrid and Onenote
WORKSHOP ON JOYFUL TEACHING AND LEARNING OF MATHEMATICS
A Capacity Building workshop organized by CBSE on Joyful Teaching and Learning of Mathematics on 12 September 2019 at Pragyan Public School (Jewar). The resource persons were Ms. Ishita Mukherjee and Ms. Praveen. The main objective behind the training was focusing on sharing ideas and resources for improvement in teaching learning process. The activities organized were based on Integer, Algebra, Geometry- Lines, angles, Parallel lines and transversal, Angle sum properties of a triangle and polygon. The workshop was attended by Ms. Archana Srivastava, Ms.Shraddha Mathuria, Ms. Divya Bhatia and Ms. Hema Pandey.
WORKSHOP FOR TRANSPORT SAFETY
Jaypee Public School, Greater Noida has been made nodal centre for transport safety by DIOS. With respect to this, a workshop was organised on 23rd October for the students of grades 6-9 and 11. The various aspects related to the issue were addressed during the workshop. Stress was laid on practicing good transport practices, that is, following traffic rules and regulations as well as on intravehicular safety. The latter is equally important and can be achieved by wearing seat belts while travelling by personal transport and by avoiding any kind of movement in a moving vehicle while using public transport.
Council member, Sattvik Singh of grade VIIIB, gave an insight on the importance of observing various safety measures. Mr. O.P Sharma gave a power point presentation to reinforce the cause further. He presented before students’ various statistics related to road accidents and violation of traffic rules and regulations. He also addressed the issue of driving, practiced by under age children and informed the students about the recent amendments made by government of India to curb such incidences.
The students were also addressed by transport officer, Mr. Balveer Singh, who interacted with students about various causes of road accidents. He also informed students about the recently introduced procedure for e-challan. Last but not the least, the students were motivated to become responsible citizens by following traffic rules to promote transport safety.
CBSE CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME ON SOCIAL SCIENCE X
The workshop on Capacity Building Programme on Social Science X was conducted on 23rd - 24th October by the CBSE resource person Mr Dhiraj Singh (Vice Principal of Pragyan International School, Jewar). He discussed Social Science in the light of NCF 2005 and highlighted the methods of engaging the students in effective and fruitful learning. He also stressed upon planning activities keeping in mind the cognitive, effective and psycho-motor domain of the students. The guideline of Multiple Intelligence Theory of Howard Gardner And Bloom's Taxonomy were discussed in detail. The assessment techniques to frame ideal question paper focused on application based were also discussed. The workshop was interesting and enlightening. The workshop was attended by Ms Meenu Lakhanpal & Ms Swati Sahay.
TRAINING ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (402)
The training programme on Information Technology was conducted by CBSE for the Computer teachers of CBSE schools at St Thomas School,New Delhi on 12th July 2019. In all 47 teachers from different CBSE schools participated. The resource persons for the training were Ms Madhu Singh and Ms Anita Kanchroo. The main objective behind the training on Information Technology was to make the teachers aware about new changes in syllabus of IT(402) at secondary level of the school. The discussion on the pattern of question paper and various online web based apps that can be used in teaching-learning process the takeaway of the training was: The teachers were given introduction and hands on the following topics like Employability Skills, Vocational Skill, Diksha Portal of CBSE, Mind, Sway, Kahoot.com, edmod.com, weebly.com, blogsome.com, Cyber Security, KVS Planner.com. All participants were asked to make a sway presentation on “word Processing” and ten questions for IT(402) examination. Closing session of the training was graced by Mr RP Singh Joint Secretary (Skill Education) CBSE. He also addressed all the queries raised by trainees. Trainers expressed their closing remarks and reiterated the importance of the training for the trainees in their daily activities and readiness for applying the learnt concepts in the school.
CBSE CAREER GUIDANCE WORKSHOP
A capacity building programme on career counseling focusing on the present demands and requirement of the job market was conducted by CBSE on May 24 and 25, 2019 at Delhi Public School, Greater Noida. Mrs. Hema priyadarshini TGT Social Science and Mrs. Pratibha Upadhahya school career counselor attended it. In this workshop unconventional career options were discussed keeping in mind the personality, skill sets, interest and aptitude of the present generation. The workshop was attended by teachers from different schools. Need Analysis Questionnaire and Understanding Career Development handouts were given. Tools and techniques which could be further used in finding out the suitable career options for the students were given. It aimed at enabling us to conduct fair analysis of the career option for the students of class IX to XII. Overall it was a good experience.
CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS
The school, organized a two-day Capacity Building Programme on Classroom Management and ICT on 25th and 26th March 2019. It was conducted by the Principal Ms.Meeta Bhandula and Ms.Hema Priyadarshini(H.O.D. Social Science)

Classroom Management
It was a great learning experience, as it helped the teachers to adopt various techniques to make the teaching and learning process more effective. There were many topics which were covered in the two-day programme such as – techniques to use Google class room and other Google apps for interactive sessions with students, Understanding Classroom Management, Components of Effective Classroom, Teaching Styles, Learning Styles, and Management of Inter-Personal Relationships. The workshop revolved around active discussions between the teachers and the resource persons. Teachers were introduced to various innovative methods for managing classrooms. They were divided into different groups, and they actively participated in evaluating their own style of teaching. Teachers also sportingly took part in group activities which involved case studies, presenting lesson plans and also shared their personal experiences in classrooms which helped others to learn new ways of interacting with children. The need and importance of inclusive education was highlighted, followed by an inspiring movie. It was a fun-filled and enriching session, full of hands’-on activities for the teachers to indulge in and learn from. The enlightened teachers now look forward to applying the strategies effectively in the classroom.
The workshop concluded with this thought that teachers should comprehend the child’s mind and try various ways to reach their level to enlighten and assess their knowledge and the topics discussed were not only required for the evaluation of child’s ability but it is important to foster quality learning to a make the school child friendly.
