SESSION 2023-24

 

Manuscript making activity
“Creativity is intelligence and having fun.” - Albert Einstein

In order to introduce students to the ancient art of writing in a fun-filled manner while also refining their writing skills, and getting their creative juices flowing, a manuscript- making activity was conducted for the students of grade 6 in the class on 25th April. Through this activity, students were provided an opportunity to showcase their imagination and creativity as well as to acquire information about how despite the availability of meager resources, the art of writing manuscripts has played an influential role as a source of information for major events that took place in ancient times Through this, the manuscript-making activity gained insights about the sources of ancient history and fostering creativity amongst students while also giving them an opportunity to develop their language proficiency by penning down their thoughts and ideas in writing.


Coin Designing Activity

For the students of Grade VII, a coin inscription creation exercise was held in order to introduce children to the ancient art of carving and inscriptions in a joyful manner for honing their creativity. Through this activity, students had the chance to demonstrate their imagination and creativity while learning about how, despite the limited resources available, the art of designing inscriptions has had a significant impact as a source of information for significant events that occurred in ancient times.
Students were instructed to bring clay dough and use it to create a coin for this exercise. They were then instructed to engrave their own artwork onto it. After finishing it, they presented their work to the class.
Overall, the activity was beneficial in encouraging student creativity while also allowing them a chance to hone their creating abilities.

 

Celebrating Shakespeare month
“All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players.”

The 'Bard of Avon’, William Shakespeare is regarded as one of the greatest writers, poets, and dramatists, who left an indelible impact on the English language with his insurmountable contribution to the field of literature
Students from grade pre-nursery to XII participated in a myriad of activities like decorating bulletin boards by displaying the inspirational quotation of Shakespeare and the words coined by him. Students made comic strips of famous play like Merchant of Venice, Hamlet, etc, as it was a celebration to pay homage to him and to get a glimpse of his literary excellence.

  • Assembly on Mother’s Day

A Mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take” Mother’s day is a special day, for all children and mothers as; it celebrates the bond of love and affection that is everlasting. The students of grade VI D conducted the assembly on the theme- Mother’s Love on 9th May, 2022 . The assembly began with a prayer following which the students expressed their love and respect through enthralling dance, thoughtful Speech for their mother and teachers, beautiful poem on Motherhood and sang an English song dedicated to mothers. Students conveyed heart-warming wishes to all mothers for being an epitome of love, sacrifice and empathy.    

 

  • Assembly on Values

“Peace of mind produces right values, right values produce right thoughts. With this pensive thought, Grade VI C presented their assembly on 2nd May, 2022. Students presented inspiring thoughts and delivered speeches by highlighting the importance of being mindful about the real success that requires respect for and faithfulness to the highest human values-honesty, integrity, self-discipline, dignity, compassion, humility, courage. Students performed mesmerizing dances to the tune of patriotic songs. The class teacher Ms. Divya guided and motivated students to practice moral values and show respect to everyone.    

 

  • Assembly on Labour Day

A special assembly was marked by VI B on 25th April, 2022 to observe Labour Day. Students were sensitized about the dignity of labour. Students recited poems and delivered speeches about the importance of labour in our life. Ms. Chitrangadha, class teacher of grade VI B while addressing the students told them how important the role of workers in our life and the painstaking efforts of the labourers are the foundation of any nation’s progress, no matter how much ever the technology advances; we still need humans to operate them. Nothing can be done without human intervention. The assembly truly conveyed the message, according to its title ‘Without labour, nothing prospers.’    

 

 

Building competencies and skills through subject enrichment activities

  • Weave a Story

“A good story can imbibe the right value in the most impressionable age”
Brightening the day of the students with wonderful stories, a story telling session was conducted on 12th April. Through this activity the students explored their unique expressiveness and could heighten the ability to communicate in an articulate and lucid manner. The main objective of this activity was to enhance their language skills, instill a love for reading and stir their imagination.

 

  • Inter House Competition

“Inter house competition paves the way for students to rejuvenate their spirits, remain rooted to the moral values and unleash their vitality”
Poem Recitation:
Poetry is the core of literature spread the fragrance of poetry among the students. Keeping this view in mind, Poem Recitation was conducted on the occasion of remembering Rabindranath Tagore which was organised on 20th April 2022. Children astonished everyone with their voice modulation and amazing oratory skills.

 

  • “The world of imagination is boundless” Slogan writing competition:-

The well-planned slogan writing competition was conducted on 20th March focusing on brushing up the student’s talent, the competition was aimed at increasing awareness about the increasing conflicts and the need of peace in the world among students. In this competition, all the learners participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.

 

  • Math-o-Mania

Competency based learning

An activity on Roman numbers was conducted on 26th April. In this activity the learners were given free hand to create any three roman numbers of their choice using matchsticks

 

  • A day in the life of your favourite character (story enactment)

Role play was conducted on 4th May in which students showcased their amazing gestures, actions and dialogues. This activity inspired the children to think, work and enact creatively. It aimed at promoting artistic excellence in them and develop the respect for various roles.

 

  • “We evolve, develop and inspire”

Workshop on the Calculation tool (Abacus)

A workshop for students of class 3 to 5 was conducted on 6th May. The resource person demonstrated the method through the beads of abacus to make the session educative and interesting. All the students enthusiastically participated, learnt and asked their queries. It aimed to help students in enhancing concentration, memory, speed accuracy, strategically thinking and brain development.

 

  • Fruit Fiesta

Healthy salad making activity was conducted on 19th May. The main objective of this activity was to promote and inculcate good and healthy eating habits in the children, it also helped them to identify nutrients present in different food items. It was a fun filled experience for the children.

 

 

 

Parent Orientation Programme-2022-23

Saturday, 26.03.2022 (11. 30a.m to 12. 30p.m)

An Orientation session for parents of students of classes 3 to 5 was organised on 26th March 2022, to welcome and familiarize them with the ethos of the school, to have a robust bonding with the parents and to enable a harmonious learning process for the students.
The parents were acquainted with the mentoring programmes like NCC, Scouts & Guides, clubs etc. for the holistic development of students and with the latest teaching pedagogical approaches, competency based learning and an idea was given to parents about the curriculum which is self- directed with hands on learning activities.

The curriculum not only gives our students a medium to fully utilize their creative talents and energies, but also helps them in their all-round development. The parents were briefed about the different activity clubs running in the school to encourage students to learn various skills through activities. The parents were given the insight of several facilities such as day care, safety and security, transport, uniform books outlet. Different modes of communication were also highlighted. All the rules and regulation abide by the students were also conveyed.

Parents were acquainted with the new initiatives taken by school i.e. Advance Scientific Innovation Lab. An overview of assessment pattern for grades 3 to5 was shared.
Various Initiatives like JPS Sports academy, Khelo India, Olympic Bharat were brought to attention of the parents by the HOD Ms. Neeraj.
To conclude Principal ma’am Ms. Meeta Bhandula addressed the gathering by walking through the vision and philosophy of the school. She enlightened the gathering with all the upcoming initiatives and apprised them with the steps taken by the school management to nurture the children and build a strong foundation for a glorious future.

Overall it was a fruitful and enriching experience for the parents, staff and all the members present in the programme.
