REPORT FOR WEBSITE ON SAHODAYA QUIZ EVENT 2020-21
The students of grades VI-XII participated in an Inter School Quiz competition, Jashn-e-Azaadi (An Annual Sahodaya NCR East Event) organised by Grads International School, Greater Noida on 14th and 15th August, 2020.
The theme of the quiz endeavored to celebrate India’s victory over various natural calamities and human-made disasters in addition to the sacrifices made by several people in helping others during crises. The quiz covered vast topics such as army, navy, air force or peace-keeping operations in India, victory over various diseases, natural disasters, along with victory over man-made disasters like Bhopal Gas Tragedy, Bombay Explosion (Oil Spill) etc., and finally yet importantly triumph over terrorism.
The contenders from both junior and senior wing participated in groups of three and enthusiastically answered all the questions presented online. More than 400 students from all over India and the Middle East took part in the preliminary round of the quiz which was held on 14th August. After a briefly zealous round of events, Team Samaritans from our school qualified for the final round. The victor team comprised of brainy wizards; Aadya Kakkar, Aarshia Kohli and Lakshita Bhardwaj from XII C who were ultimately announced as second runner up in the final round that took place on 15th August. The event was culminated with vote of thanks from the organisers followed by the National Anthem. The winners along with the other participants were awarded with a certificate of participation. This event provided a great platform for the students to hone their teamwork skills, gain knowledge and seek opportunities to excel beyond academics.

The students displayed their gamut of skills by participating actively in subject enrichment activities and art integrated learning projects. They designed posters, power point presentations, and models to exhibit their learning of different concepts and connecting different concepts through various art forms.
‘Imaginarium – First Virtual Summer Camp’
“Making memories that last a lifetime”
Imaginarium our first fun filled virtual summer camp was organised from 1st to 12th June. The camp offered a plethora of activities like dance, art and craft, music, science experiments, and many more to rejuvenate and engage themselves in constructive pursuits. The camp aimed to make the children learn something novice and channelize their energies in the right path wherein all the participants passionately indulged themselves.
ONLINE CLASSES THROUGH GOOGLE MEET
‘A New beginning often paves way to new vistas.’
The crisis that has engulfed the entire world with the onset of COVID-19, has created a sense of patience and composure within us and has helped us to stay positive and lead a fulfilling life at this grim hour. Despite the cloud of confusion around, Jaypee Public School, Greater Noida started its online classes through Google Meet portal, giving them the exposure of virtual school while staying indoors. To keep children’s spirits high, co-scholastic classes have also been included in the time-table. This digital platform provides an opportunity for children to keep learning and stay in touch with their friends. It is heartening to note that students have welcomed this move and are benefiting from these classes.
Mission Shakti week was celebrated from November 7 – 14, 2020 to educate the students about the respect and safety of every woman. The Scout and Guide students celebrated mission Shakti with plethora of activities such as Poster making, Slogan writing, Webinar on domestic violence and women safety POCSO. Ms. Ruhi Kapoor, Counsellor, enlightened the students about the topic. The prevailing atrocities in the society were addressed and taken up both by students/parents in a candid manner. It was surely a learning and well connecting platform for all of us.
INDIA INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE FESTIVAL (IISF) 2020
The 6th edition of India International Science Festival (IISF) was organised at virtual platform from 22nd to 25th December 2020. The festival promoted love and passion for science among young people and students by bringing science outside the labs. It also reflected the role of Indian scientists and S&T innovations for not just Atmanirbhar Bharat but global welfare also.
The festival was visited by the faculty members as well as students of our school. They visited various virtual pavilions showcasing the achievements of India’s scientific advancement with students, innovators, craftsmen, farmers, scientists and technocrats from India and abroad. Students ascertained about many models/projects focussing on Digital Bharat, Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Swaccha Bharat Swastha Bharat and Agritech throughout this enlightened programme.
National Constitution Day
National Constitution Day was observed on 26th Nov,2020 in our school by reading the Preamble of India in the zero slot. The Social Science teacher explained the preamble and the significance of constitution Day. Abeer Lakhanpal, a student of class VIII –A , highlighted the salient features of our Constitution, which enables the countrymen to enjoy freedom of rights , speech , to choose the government and equality in all aspects irrespective of their cast, creed , religion, social and economic status.
BRITISH COUNCIL WORKSHOP
School organised a webinar in association with British Council, India for the students of grades VIII-XII on 21st January 2021 on machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer graphics and vision programming.
AI Workshop
This special AI foundation training for students of grade IX - XI was delivered by IBM on 15 Jan 2021. The programme involved a 3-hour online training on AI. 45 students participated in this webinar and they were required to submit their idea for a solution using AI. The top 2 ideas would be selected for an internship opportunity at IBM in 2021 with mentoring by IBM experts under the CBSE-IBM AI Enabled SEWA Programme for Students conducted by IBM.
Webinar on Coding Platform for Kids
WhiteHat Jr conducted a Webinar on Coding Platform for Kids on 28th January, 2021. About 180 students of Class 1-V participated and created some basic apps and got a feel of coding. Yogya Verma (III A) and Shreyash Shrivastava (VII C) are now a WhiteHat Jr certified game developers
VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
Vigilance Awareness Week was observed from 27th October, 2020 to 2nd November, 2020 in our school. This year, the theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week was ‘Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat’ (Vigilant India, Prosperous India). Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic situation, the teachers, staff members and senior students (Classes X - XII) took the ‘e-Integrity Pledge’ from home using the available electronic mode.
